While performance assessments are often used as a summative benchmark opportunity to gauge student growth, it’s the daily learning experiences a teacher designs that have a bigger impact on student performance. Where should a teacher start and how can they help their learners prepare for the performance assessments guiding a thematic unit? This session will identify daily assessment strategies teachers can use help learners process language input in order to develop the language ownership necessary to meet the identified learning targets.
